  Resolution X Save the Day!

Holden Valentines Day Show

When Holden wanted to stage a Valentines Dinner to remember, they turned to Australian Business Theatre to produce, design and project manage the event.

Resolution X was contracted to supply the lighting requirements for the night. After six weeks of meticulous planning, the event was due to be loaded into the Touring Hall at the new Melbourne Museum. But eleven hours before the dinner was to begin ABT were asked to move the event from the museum to the Melbourne Entertainment Centre.

"As the Museum touring hall has an in house grid, basically no truss had been provided for this event," said Tim Hall, Managing Director of Resolution X. "We had to provide this at the last minute. Furthermore most lamps were running on the house patch and dimmers so all looms required had to be prepped overnight." While the set up day was obviously very busy, all schedules were met and the night was a resounding success.

Lighting Designer for the event was Philip Lethlean who chose a wealth of Clay Paky equipment for his lighting rig.

"Give me Clay Paky anyday!" said Philip. "For gobos and focus, they are by far the best. Although I've used the Stage Light 300 and Stage Color 300 before, this is the first time I've used the Stage Zooms and I really liked them. The good thing about Clay Paky gear is their effects glass - it's great. The Stage Zoom 1200's did most of the work with their effects glass.

"We also use some Clay Paky Combicolors off the floor and roof going straight down the gathered bits of cloth. They add colour and texture, they're a good handy light."
