This 1200 seat theatre hosts performances ranging from school assemblies, through to full scale theatrical productions.
It is used on a daily basis by the school community and is also available for outside hire. The facility boasts a fly tower, comprehensive lighting rig and full sound-reinforcement system, as well as stage communications and other systems.

In supplying and installing all of these systems Lightmoves worked closely with the Theatre Systems designer and the Theatre Manager to ensure that the theatre fully conformed with all of the requirements.
Theatre installations in schools not only have to perform well, they also need to be robust enough to tolerate semi-skilled student operators learning how to use the equipment.
Meyer self-powered speakers provide the main sound reinforcement. They remove the need for separate amplifiers and potential problems related to amplifier power gain adjustment. They are mounted on custom brackets to facilitate accurate aiming.
A Peavey MediaMatrix system provides signal processing and control including EQ, delay, matrix-mixing and signal path selection. Several preset setups were programmed into the MediaMatrix to facilitate rapid re-assignment of the theatre. (For example, a different setup is required for a morning school assembly than for a production that is to be rehearsed in the afternoon.)

The College uses the theatre for a wide variety of applications; ranging from school assemblies to community meetings, ensemble performances and full-scale productions. The Control Room layout reflects this diversity of use and easily accommodates operation by one person, for a simple setup; or several people for large productions. Very simple setups can be operated without an operator.
The comprehensive lighting rig is operated via a 36 channel lighting desk. Two networks of DMX512 provide full control of dimmers and moving lights.
